Volunteering in Kumasi’s oprhanage

I have chosen to volunteer for three months in Kumasi children's home based in Ghana in September 2016. This is because I would like to help others less fortunate than myself and this has been something I have always felt. In order to be able to go to Ghana I need to raise a sum of £3,000. This will cover: accommodation, travel costs and so so much more! Any help with raising this money would be highly appreciated, it doesn't have to be much as every little bit helps.

I will work with Projects-Abroad in Ghana helping staff in their orphanages. The number of orphans in Ghana is a massive problem for the country's rudimentary social welfare services. In the orphanages that do exist, staff struggle with limited resources to feed, clothe, and educate the children in their care. Staff all too often simply do not have the time to provide the individual love and attention that these children need, so they can have as normal a childhood as possible. So to have the extra pair of hands really is a God send for them!
