Volunteering in Kerala

Hello!

My name is Marieke Buckley and I am a children’s nursing student. In May I will be volunteering with the International Volunteer HQ organisation (IVHQ) in Kerala, in the south of India. I will be working with Kindergarten children aged 3-6 in local primary schools for just under a month. In these primary schools I will be assisting local teachers, as well as helping to teach children the English language and various other subjects. I will also have the opportunity to introduce these children to a diverse range of other activities, including sports, music, and art. To volunteer with young children and to make any kind of a difference to their lives, or to the quality of the education they receive has been a lifelong dream of mine. I need your help to raise funds for the volunteering program, and local organisation and primary schools in the area I will be based.

We are so lucky to be living in a first world country with every resource available at our fingertips. Education is accessible and affordable. However for the children I will be working with this is not the case. Please help me to help them by donating whatever you can. All funds raised will go towards the volunteering program, to the local organisation in Kerala, and to the local primary schools. Your donation will also go towards purchasing vital school and classroom supplies for these schools.
