Campaign Story
As many of you know, I am going to India in January to spend a few weeks volunteering.
The majority of the population still experience poor health as many cannot afford regular, if any, medical treatment. I will be placed in slum communities and local clinics. The slum clinics are the main point of access for health as it is free for local people, although it only has two rooms it has hopes of further expansion in the future.
I will also be taking part in a second project in 3 orphanages in Faridabad. 7% of all children in India are orphans and there is lack of funding, resources and manpower to look after the vulnerable children. My role here will vary from teaching, helping with homework, feeding, carrying out activities, playing games and dancing!
I am aiming to get quite a few gifts for the children in Faridabad, such as clothes and toys, colouring books, paper and pens. I will be getting a lot things in-country to help them too as I won't be able to take much for them in my luggage.
I am so excited to be given the opportunity to go on this trip and help at these projects, anything you can donate to help fund this trip and gifts will be massively appreciated!
