I will travel to Canberra this March 2019 and seek to volunteer in order to make this journey meaningful. After searching several opportunities, this one caught my attention. It's to become a Learning Partner in Clemente Program. My heart is with people who cannot get the opportunity to study because of poverty and social injustice. I know how it feels to get no chance to study because of financial issues, so this is the best opportunity for me to reach out and help those in need.
You can read more about Clemente Program below.
The Clemente Program is an undergraduate education program offered by the St Vincent de Paul Society in partnership with the Australian Catholic University. It aims to break the cycle of poverty, inequality and social injustice for disadvantaged and marginalised people by providing opportunities to engage in a meaningful way with society, both socially and economically, through access to university-level study. Students study towards a non-award accredited university qualification, the Certificate in Liberal Studies. The achievement of studying at a university level for someone who has been living on the edge of society can be truly transformative.
