Hey,I am going to India on 2 May to do three weeks of volunteer work at one of the medical camps in the slum communities surrounding Faridibad. Despite India becoming one of the global economic powerhouses, the vast majority of its population still experience poor health. In India, there is a lack of health education and access to medical help is often difficult. This is especially so in the slum areas. These projects and campaigns are designed to offer free, or heavily subsidised, primary healthcare and medical check-ups to members of the slum and rural communities. Money raised goes towards pre-departure training, implementation of the projects which of course helps improve the healthcare of the local community. Any donation, big or small, would be greatly appreciated!
