Volunteering in Bali educating individuals on Nutrition and Health.

Hi, my name is Freya White and here is my story!

Thank you for taking the time to view my fundraising page.

I am travelling to Bali in the summer for 3 weeks to volunteer, teaching children about health, nutrition and personal hygiene.

I am going with the organisation volunteer world, I have given this trip great thought and research to ensure it is the correct fit for me. The cause speaks to me as I am a undergraduate 3rd year Nutritional Sciences student at university. I am passionate about passing on my knowledge to other individuals whilst at the same time learning about their cultures and different foods they consume! Nutrition, both under/malnutrition and the continuing rise in obesity worldwide is a massive problem, so, inspiring just a few individuals about food is something that is so exciting to me! Further to this, I believe all individuals deserve to know the basic health and hygiene so going out there to teach this to children is essential!

This will be my first time on a long haul trip alone, and this experience will be both challenging and hopefully incredibly rewarding for me. My parents are worried, yes but they see how passionate I am about it and understand.

I am here because I want to do this solely on my own without the help of my parents, for once. I am 20 and it’s about time! I also believe it will be more meaningful this way, showing I am independent and ready to take on the world! My funds will go towards the flights and vaccinations, I have already managed to pay for the accommodation, visas and insurance with my current part-time job.

To raise funds further I will be:

- Selling old clothes and bags I no longer need.

- Keeping my part-time job until the point I have to go!
