I am raising money to travel to Indonesia so that I can volunteer at the Bali Wildlife Rescue Center in summer 2018. Many animals in Indonesia are losing their homes due to deforestation as a result of growing industry in the exportation of goods like palm oil and rubber. The Bali wildlife rescue center is one of seven centers in Indonesia that rehabilitates and releases endangered animals back into the wild. The Bali wildlife rescue center provides an amazing opportunity to help connect previously displaced and endangered animals with a team of people who can help get them where they need to be. Many of these animals have been saved from poachers, traffickers, private homes or businesses. Some of my duties at the center would include: feeding animals, interacting with and coaching animals to provide enrichment, cleaning animal enclosures and helping maintain the center, creating a good environment for the animals and workers. The experience at this center would be a powerful opportunity with which I get to learn about the different animals and gain better perspective on their situation and need in a country where deforestation and animal poaching and trafficking is such a major issue. The experience will last for a total of 3 weeks and your donations will help fund my transportation, background check, travel insurance, as well as registration and program fees including accomodation, meals, etc. I am eternally grateful for anything you can give to help me on this journey!
