My name is Ruby and I have decided to set out in the summer to spend a couple of weeks volunteering in Vietnam, teaching young children between the ages of 3 and 5.
I have a passion for education, and I believe every child, regardless of their background, deserves the chance to have a great education. I decided to choose Vietnam to volunteer due to its decent turbulent history, and therefore the sheer amount of children who have been born into poverty and with disabilities following the Vietnam War.
I was so grateful to be awarded a scholarship for writing about the work I intend to carry out, however as a university student from a low-income background even this isn't quite enough to cover all my costs to enable me to volunteer. I am volunteering with a company called IVHQ, who thus far have been amazing and helpful, and I am asking for £300 to help cover some of my remaining costs after my scholarship. This will go towards my program fee, which goes directly to the school I will be volunteering at.
Absolutely anything will help me out so much, and help me to hopefully make even a small difference in the school I will be volunteering at in Vietnam. Thank you.
