Volunteer Sri Lanka 2020 PMYG

Hello!!! I have recently been accepted into a 6-week volunteer programme in Ambalangoda, Sri Lanka! For the duration of the programme I will be working alongside underprivileged children, monks and those who are unable to afford or access appropriate education in Sri Lanka to increase their English literacy. After the 2004 tsunami and recent terror attacks access to education is not only unaffordable, but also unsustainable for many Sri Lankan families; however, education is the greatest barrier against poverty. I am beyond excited and grateful to meet and (hopefully) educate those participating in my English classes! I will travel from the UK to Sri Lanka in early March, unfortunately; studying abroad in the Uk for the past 6 months has really strapped my bank account and any contributions toward my volunteer program will be warmly received! I cannot wait to begin what I can only imagine will be a challenging, rewarding and beautiful experience, I look forward to sharing this Journey with you!
