Volunteer in Thailand

Elephents, education, EDventure. 

This fundraising campaign is to help me raise money for a volunteer trip to Thailand. The trip is organized through an international program called EDventure which is designed as a leadership, travel, and service opportunity for people wanting to develop such skills in different cultures around the world. While helping several developing communities in Cambodia, Thailand, Costa Rica, and South Africa, volunteers gain a first hand experience at the rich cultures each country has to offer while making a substantial change to each one. My particular goal for this summer is to raise money in order to go to Thailand. All money donated goes toward a flight there and resources in order to build, teach and help protect endangered elephants. Not only do volunteers help teach the children who are incredibly eager to learn, but also help paint classrooms and build projects like greenhouses, mushroom houses and more in order to help developing villages. All projects are income generating in order to continue helping people long after volunteers leave. These efforts are oriented around the goal to make enduring contributions to the lives of others. 

Aside from helping the people, the trip also focuses on helping the elephants within Thailand's borders. Along with bathing, planting and harvesting food, walking and building shelters for these amazing animals, volunteers will be helping the people find safer ways to take care of them. Here we aim to ensure the longevity of the elephants in easten Thailand who's habitat has fallen due to poaching and major habitat loss.

The leadership and immersion programs volunteers will be experiencing throughout the whole trip bring an awareness about the country many will never experience. From visiting temples to going to different villages and helping  these communities in a lasting way, this volunteer trip to Thailand is one that is completely oriented around raising the well being of everyone involved. Needless to say, the oppurtunity before me is incredible. I just need your help. As previously stated, the bulk of the expense is used in order to buy resources to build within the community. The smaller portion is for a flight and living accomadations.

I can only ask for the smallest of donations because every little bit helps each community I will be traveling to through the EDventure program. Through your donation, you would be helping a beautiful and inclusive country. The people and wildlife there would greatly benefit from lasting income generating programs that increase the lively hood of these communities. Even one dollar could make the difference of a life time to a child, family, or even elephant.
