Volunteer in Philippines

Hello everyone.I am a Spanish18 years old student who is looking forward to go to volunteer in Philippines. I am going to start to study Zoology in Glasgow in 2015, so I have been looking for lots of volunteer opportunities all around the world. Eventhough I have worked as a coach saving some money these years, and also teaching Maths and Biology... I can't afford to pay the full flight and placement expenses. It is not a paid volunteer project, but at least I don't pay huge amounts of money (as lots of volunteer webs ask for, which, by the way, I do not consider ethical). I have to pay for normal life for volunteers such as accomodation, food and transport... The name of the Organisation is LAMAVE (Large Marine Vertebrates) which is doing some research in Philippines based on animal behaviour and populations.The project of the volunteers is to collect information, pictures, and other interesting information about the Whale Sharks living in the South of Cebu, in Oslob. Around 2011 a Documentary came out about swimming there with them, this documentary made lots of people travel there and swim with those sharks. This tourist boom brought lots of people to organise tourist trips to see them... these tourist and tourist guides feed the sharks and and changed their behaviour. Our aim is to watch their populations and behaviour, snorkel to tag them and pic some samples of their food, skin, excrements... But we will also work in community projects such as help locals to be responsible with tourism and fishing.  I have been volunteering as a Research Assistant in the Cetacean Research and Rescue Unit during the last summer, watching, collecting data and taking pictures of bottlenose dolphins, and also some field experience on cetacean stranding.
