You can help make a difference in the world!
Thoughts become ideas, ideas become plans, plans become actions. Actions change the world!
Take action and help me get to Nepal to make a difference in the world. In November of 2014 I will be traveling to Nepal to spend two weeks in a childrens home. I will be using my time in the home in various ways. From helping children with their daily activities to maintaining the home, cooking and cleaning. I will also be immersed in the Nepali culture as well as bringing my knowledge and experience with me.
Any volunteer job instills a sense of "giving back." However, overseas volunteering can be truly meaningful in this area. People in foreign cultures understand that you might be giving up numerous creature comforts to help them out. Because of this, the act of giving is even more poignant, deep and thorough.
The United States is a stable country compared to many countries abroad. Enjoying the fruits of your labor by watching a child smile at you when you read a book to her or by receiving appreciation from a family whose house you build is priceless.
It is true that we are all ONE and as the world gets smaller with technology we have no choice but to see the differences in cultures and lopsidedness of our world. It's our responsibility to help if we can.
I am raising funds for the cost of the volunteer program as well as airfare to Nepal. Any funds left over will go to pay for my living expenses and to the village in which I live while in Nepal.
The program I will be participating is through Global Volunteer Network which is a non-profit volunteer organization company endorsed by Bill Gates and CNN. Answers to any questions you may have about the company or their programs can be found on their website:
