Albin’s volunteer trip to South Africa

Hello!

My name is Albin and I've had the most amazing dream for the past three years, in this dream I get to go to South Africa to learn more about- and help our oceans in any way possible for a couple of weeks. I have now have found a way to turn this dream into reality, it's through a company that offers volunteer work in the field of "Marine & Reef Conservation" in South Africa.
If I were to do this, it would not only make my biggest dream come true and probably change my life forever, but I would also get to help our oceans and the locals in and around Sodwana Bay in South Africa.
I would also really like to do this because I'm hoping I would get connections and/or inspiration to get into this line of work and get to continue working within the field of marine and reef conservation somewhere in the world.

The website is unfortunately only in Swedish with no English version available. (Google translate may do the trick though.)

I would like to stay for 8 weeks at the project. With my calculations the costs would be the following:

• 3150€ for GoXplore, this includes the following: PADI Open Water- or Advanced certification, dive-gear, food, water and a place to sleep, research/educational books, the project itself + education for it, transport to and from the airport, daily entry costs into the national park and other local fees.
• 735€ for the flight, round-trip/ there and back.
• 285€ pocket money for the 8 weeks.
• 94€ approximately for secondhand mask, snorkel and swim-fins/flippers

(There's also the wetsuit that has to be full length and at least 5mm thick, which is very pricey, but my lovely grandmother promised she would (help) pay for that.)

In total I would need 4264€ for this volunteer project.
I currently have 1680€ saved up for this.
