Volleyball Club in Worcester, MA

My name is Emily Boutilette and I need your help.I want to build a volleyball training center in the Worcester, MA area.I want to provide a safe, fun environment for kids and teens to play volleyball year round.Currently there is no such place within Worcester that is affordable for the children of Worcester. My goal is to keep my costs as low as possible so that as many kids and teens as possible can play volleyball. I want to be able to offer need based scholarships and free programs to the inner city youth.

I started a Junior Olympic Volleyball Club last December in the city of Worcester.I had 10 amazing young women play for me and we were very successful.At the end of last year’s season, I told them all, my goal was to double the size of my club for the following season.On the first day of try outs for this season, I had over 30 girls signed up for my club.I was very excited and nervous at the same time.When all the try outs were over and the teams were decided, I have 79 girls that comprise 7 volleyball teams!I kept saying “pinch me this can’t be real”, “I can’t believe my eyes!” and “look at all the talent in this gym and they want to play for me!” and “I need to open my own gym ASAP!” I am very humbled to have so many girls this year.However, this poses a bigger problem, gym space.I need to get my own training center up and running as fast as possible.These girls deserve to have their own “home court.”Right now I rent gym spaces from two different gyms.

About me; I have been playing volleyball for over 30 years.I have been coaching volleyball for the past 12 years at the high school and collegiate level.I am a mom to three wonderful children and have an amazingly supportive husband.I am also a Paramedic but was hit by a drunk driver in the winter of 2014 that has left me unable to work on an ambulance ever again (after doing so for 20 years).I am a CPR and First Aid instructor.I am a level 1 NFHS certified volleyball coach, MIAA certified volleyball coach, IMPACT and SAFESPORT certified coach, CAP 1 & 2 certified coach, VCAP certified and also Beach IMPACT and SAFESPORT certified coach.I am a very passionate person.

My goal is to raise $500,000.00 or more so that I can find my own space to run the club out of, to purchase the equipment necessary and also be able to offer need based scholarships for those wanting to play but can’t afford to pay.I also want to use this money to have indoor sand courts.There is no such thing within Massachusetts, Connecticut, Rhode Island, Vermont, Maine and New Hampshire.By having indoor sand courts, I can offer indoor sand play for little kids during the winter as well as running indoor sand volleyball leagues for all ages.
