I am Karl Jezrel Anglo. A visionary, hardworking, and persevering college student from Manila, Philippines.

This year has just begun but it already blasted me and my education with a great challenge.

I am currently taking up a bachelor's degree in the field of information technology and programming. I am also a scholar of the state and studying now in a state-funded university. This is my last year, which means that it's only a step away from graduation. I took this college program for I am aspiring to largely contribute to the field of information science by developing and innovating technologies for all persons with visual disability like me, (who is totally blind). In the nearest future, I also want to create programs or type of technologies that would be of great assistance also to the independent living of other people living with disabilities here in the country since we do not have social support services coming from the government, so I thought that my enthusiasm and expertise in this field can help me make my ambitions real and be put into a genuine product or software. This is not an easy task I know but with great determination and perseverance, I know I will be able to attain it one day. I am also a person who is very challenged financially by poverty, and due to lack of social support services for people like us, we are forced to find other means of helping and providing ourselves with whatever we need in school.

As a student of the program, a personal computer is one of the most important and required equipment we must have. I used to have one from several years ago. However due to the fast changing technical requirements being asked by new software and hardware we were required to use this year, that computer is no longer compatible, and failing to respond correctly to commands due to mismatch specs. I was forcing it to work despite the situation. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. I know that it is wrong to force an equipment to adapt to new applications or software, but it is the only choice left for me to do, so I can keep up with school projects. After doing this repeatedly, my laptop is frequently crashing now and coping up in school assignments is becoming even more difficult to do now as my laptop is almost retiring while I am struggling to maintain high grades and comply with all school works.

Identifying various costs of laptop computers today in our currency that can cater my needs in education, it ranges from Php150000 (about 2700 USD) - Php200000 (about 3600 USD). With that amount for purchase, it will cost me an arm and a leg even just for a fraction of the total price.

I am humbly knocking in your hearts for help. I really want to finish my education as I am few months away from graduation. And I am also closer to the fulfillment of my goals for people with visual disability. I am confident with my skills that I can attain this despite that I am a person who is totally blind myself. Through your kindness and generosity, my goals and dreams will be possibly achieved.

I am expressing my deepest gratitude to all of you in advance. Thank you so much for sharing a piece of you in easing my difficult circumstances. I really do not want to lose the opportunity of finishing college because of this problem. Your donation will go a long way for me to continue reaching my goals. Your help will forever be remembered and I will always be grateful to you!
