I am trying to raise £8000 to obtain copies of archive documents from The National Archives of Scotland (NAS) pertaining to the 1950s/60s Public Inquiry regarding Hunterston 'A' Power Station in West Central Scotland.
The documents are 96 volumes of extensive information from a very long and bitter public inquiry. The documents are held by a Government Department (National Archives of Scotland) and this is where the high price of getting copies come into it as they charge a copy fee but also staff fee per 15 minutes work so it soon adds up. They have estimated it will be around the £8000 mark so this is why that amount is requested.
The documents are to gain a full understanding of what happened back then. The information from them will be processed and made available to everyone online to view and keep history alive. All documents are public domain and covered by crown copyright so sharing is allowed as long as copyright message is clearly visible
I am just a single individual who is passionate about the area and not asked anyone for any help before so this is all new to me and its something I am not in a financial position to do so looking at alternative funding options to obtain these archives from the vultures that are government.
I hope you can help
Thanks
