Campaign Story
We are knocking on the doors of your kind hearts in this time of need for our Mother Virginia’s passing this past August 25, for assistance in settling her medical bills and funeral care.
After surviving a severe stroke last December 12 2019 which paralyzed the entire right side of her body she was rushed to the hospital for immediate care and was taken cared of. Throughout her stay, doctors did everything they could to leep her out of harms way and by the end of it she looked as if she was going to make a good recovery as even some of the doctors diagnosed that as long as she takes her medicine and keeps up therapy she will recover well as long as she is able to keep her spirits high and strengthens her will along with the provided methods of recovery. She was discharged last January 2020 and we had our hopes high especially with what the doctors found. Despite the large sum of her medical bills we were able to breathe a sigh of relief knowing that she was recovering.
Then the global pandemic COVID-19 plagued the world this 2020, and because of it we were all locked down in our homes with little to no means of travel. During this time, since there were no hospitals or clinics we could bring our mother to without risking her health further nor was there any that wasn’t almost and if not already full to the brim with the waves of COVID positive patients, we consulted her doctor for guidance and asked for recommendations so that we may keep her therapy going. Unfortunately no one could accomodate our attempts to hire a medical professional for her in-house therapy as they are unable to travel to and from due to the quarantine. This was where her condition gradually deteriorated as the exercises given to her as per the instructions of the doctor were not good enough and slowly her smile faded and her spirits sunk.
This last August 24 we had to rush her to the hospital in The Medical City as it was the closest hospital with the availability to take her in since all other hospitals were already full and unable to admit her even in the emergency rooms. During this time we found that due to her condition and without prior knowledge due to the inability to acquire physical checkups, that her kidneys were failing to the point of no return and the reason she was unresponsive was mainly because of Sepsis caused by toxins spreading due to kidney failure which led to her having another attack. During this time in fighting and holding onto dear life in our last attempts in asking doctors and nurses to do everything to keep her alive, she went trhough several procedures but unfortunately her body could no longer bear them and despite all of the administered medicines and medical procedures our mother’s condition still kept deteriorating and ultimately passed at the age of 67 last August 25th.
Virginia being the selfless person she was during her lifetime, has gone through it faced with incessant challenges and yet despite having to endure all of them mostly on her own. Has never had once thought about giving up and always went about her life being positive and kind, often putting the needs of others above her own. She was a loving, thoughtful, and caring mother, daughter, wife, and a friend to those around her. She has always loved unconditionally, cared deeply, forgave without hesitation and gave without the thought of her own, supported her 3 children in all their endeavors tirelessly, celebrated everyone’s achievements all the same no matter the size. She was not perfect but she was the best mother we could ask for.
