Feeding a community during COVID-19

The Villa Kiwanis community in El Salvador is one of many low-income communities that has been affected by the COVID-19 emergency.

Many of the families residing in the community do not have access to a job and earn their food daily through informal work.

Due to the emergency of the COVID-19 in our country and the restrictions for domiciliary quarantine that have been given by the government, the people of this community that do not have a formal job have not had economic income and have not been able to bring food to their houses.

For this reason, as a Kiwanis club, we want to support them and provide them with a basic basket of food that includes basic food items for the well-being of each family. The price of the basic basket is around $ 20.00 and we would be giving a donation house by house. We hope to have the funds as of May 31, 2020 to be able to buy all the supplies and be able to deliver them to each family.

As a club, our main objective is to support the children of our communities who are without protection and we hope to continue supporting them even in these times of emergency. Many children, adolescents and young people live in this community who need our support to overcome this crisis.
