Have you ever had a dream? Did you fulfill it?
I do mine!
Let me shortly introduce myself.
I am Viktoria from Armenia. Having finished the bachelor in Marketing in Armenia, I got one year of practical experience as a Brand Manager implementing high impact marketing strategies. However, I was always trying to combine my job and my hobby - drawing and animation.
Despite my dream to become and animator, I hold my master’s studies in College of Europe in Belgium gaining European Neighborhood Policy scholarship. This experience helped me understand, that there are no obstacles to fulfill the dreams except the one I create by myself.
So, taking the whole my courage I applied to Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia e Animazione in Turin, Italy. Having passed the first selection, I was invited to Italy to pass an interview. First I was extremely happy that my dream is becoming closer, however having seen the prices of tickets Yerevan-Milan, I started to hesitate. Just to make the situation clearer, my monthly salary is around 400 euro, a ticket Yerevan-Milan-Yerevan was 420 euro at that period, in addition I had to consider the costs of my stay for two weeks in Italy. At the moment I already decided to reject the offer, I imagined how disappointed I would be after that, that's why I decided to do everything to go pass the exams. So, my friends helped me to book the ticket and I went to Turin.
During the whole my life, all the exams were just a game for me, I was always very calm before them, but this time was too important for me I was so nervous before the interview, that I even had some health problems. Despite everything, I passed the second selection too. But it wasn't so easy. The third selection lasted four days, and each day we had an exam: photo coloring with Photoshop, photo editing, character design, storyboard creation, movie understanding and finally the last interview explaining why you did this or that during the exams. After having passed all the exams and interviews I am now very happy to be accepted to the Centro.
However, the tuition fee of the Centro is very high for a person from Armenia. Taking into consideration the economic situation of Armenia, it's obvious that I cannot afford to study there on my own. That's why I started this campaign to ask everyone to help me fulfill the big dream to become an animator.
In conclusion I would like to add that it was hard to be accepted to the Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia e Animazione and now between my dream and me is only one step, so please help me do this step.
