To whom it may concern, I am writing on behalf of Kathy who is participating in a volunteer program offered through our organization, Global Volunteer Network. We are a non-profit organizaton based in Wellington, New Zealand, which places people in a range of volunteer opportunities including teaching, environmental and humanitarian work in countries around the world, such as the Philippines, Nepal, Vietnam, Kenya, and Ecuador. Kathy has been accepted into our Viet Nam volunteer program, for 6 weeks starting in September 2014. Kathy will be part of a group of volunteers who dedicate their time to working with those less fortunate than themselves. During Kathy's time in Viet Nam she will be assisting the ongoing work in one of our partner projects - these projects include orphanages, disability centres, schools and training institutions. Volunteers, such as Kathy, give so much of their time and personal resources to make volunteer programs a success. The work that Kathy will be undertaking is completely voluntary, with volunteers having to pay for all their own expenses. The Program Package for Kathy to volunteer in the Viet Nam Program for 6 weeks is US $2597, which covers volunteer in-country expenses such as accommodation and daily meals. In addition, volunteers are responsible for arranging their airfares, entry visa, vaccinations, and insurance.
