I know that I am not alone in the reality of banks taking advantage of people. They take advantage of everyone in multiple ways. Eg: What do you mean it cost $100 because the bank account was $0.05 short to cover the cheque? Can't you just approve $0.05 without the cash grabbing?? Apparently not unless you pay the monthly 'fee'. Really sickening from my perspective.

Recently they repossessed my home leaving my family with nothing after 30 years of dedicated mortgage payments. Why, you might ask? Did I not make the payments? Of course I did. The mortgage was completely up to date. There were 3 payments that came in late in the prior year due to some economic difficulties but never more than 30 days. Then why, you ask? Well... simply because I had allowed the property taxes to fall behind. That was the loophole they used to further their agenda. Even with the offer to pay the taxes and bring them current they were fixated on grabbing the property away from my family with their puritanical attitude, which they did.

This has now created an opportunity to 'screw the bank'. Because of the current soft housing market any profit the bank had hoped to make disappeared quickly. They had to shoulder the outstanding mortgage amount, bring the property taxes up to date, pay all legal fees and we get to stay in the house for free until it sells. When it does we have 30 days to 'get out'.

After lowering the sale price several times it is now being listed for much less than what was remaining on the mortgage. In my estimation if I were to make an accepted offer on this property of the bank stands to lose an estimated $70,000 on their repossession procedure. Once I calculate in the interest that I have paid on this particular property they will still stand to be short of making any profit from their bullheadedness and in fact stand to lose the amount of $30-40,000.

So I am asking anyone that has been abused by their bank and the banking system in general to lend a hand in regaining possession and returning to the bank what it seems to enjoy dishing out. Although I doubt that this would curtail any of the banks from taking advantage of the people in general at least there would be a punitive action for doing it in this case.

I currently have a portion of a down payment but it is not enough for the lender I have acquired. Currently I only have around 5% of the required 20%. Please help me in returning this home to its proper owners, my family, and out of the clutches of this tyrannical bank.

Many thanks for your consideration,
Steve
