At just two weeks of age, Vicky was diagnosed with Biliary Atresia after having severe jaundice. Upon diagnosis, Vicky and my family spent one month at Hospital for her to have Kasai surgery to try to repair ducts that would connect her liver to the intestines. It was an unsuccessful attempt and her liver remained non-functional. In April, Charley was diagnosed with Rickets disease when she broke a femur bone and had to wear a cast. Rickets is a vitamin D deficiency which causes brittle bones and will cause a delay in her crawling and walking abilities.
