1 week ago (on February 16th) our older corgi Barry was diagnosed with a brain tumor. We reached out to veterinary oncologists and surgeons in Slovenia and Austria and most of them agree that due to the location of the tumor, a surgery is very risky and they recommend a radiation therapy.

Barry will be 6 years old in May, so he's in the prime of his life. We noticed he is not feeling well, when he started stumbling, his legs were shaking and he was pressing his nose on the ground. He was resting a lot, wasn't interested in playing, he was struggling to eat and stand. So we took him to the vet immediately, but a routine check up didn't reveal anything wrong. So we did blood tests and ultrasound, all of it came back normal. But his condition was getting worse every day, so our vet decided to send him for a CT scan. Which then showed the tumor in his brain. The tumor is quite big and is pressing on his brain, which is affecting his ability to move and stand. Right now we are giving him pills Prednicortone, which help ease the symptoms and he is doing well.

But this is a very short term solution and we need to do the radiation therapy to destroy the tumor. The therapy itself lasts for a month (20 sessions) and costs 4.990 € (6.087,80 € with taxes).

So we are turning to you friends, you know how it is to have a pet, we love Barry very much and he deserves the best. He's our family member and we want him to get better and live a long, happy life. On the pictures you can see him with our other corgi Ruby, she is 2 years old. There is also a picture from his CT scan showing the location and size of the tumor.

We appreciate all your help, donate what you can, anything helps.

If we receive more than we need, we will donate the rest of the funds to the Veterinary Faculty in Ljubljana for research purposes.
