Campaign Story
On July 9th 2018 I took in two Pit mix females as a favor to a social worker friend of mine who knew of a lady fleeing a domestic violence situation needing to get out with nowhere for her dogs to go. I opened my heart and home to these two beautiful souls in the hope that their owner would do what she needed to do to get her life on track and reclaim her girls. It took her over a month to seek the treatment she desperately needed. In that month one of them went into heat. Causing testosterone to soar within my boys which caused a major fight between them. My husky ended up with a broken leg resulting with a trip to the emergency vet, 2 night stay and surgery leaving over $7,000 in vet bills that my friend payed. While he was in the hospital awaiting surgery we got a big storm with high winds and the side of the kennel the girls are staying in collapsed causing injury to one of the girls rear legs. She has not been seen or treated yet for this injury as funds are low. All funds will go to pay my friend back, get the one girl vetted for her injury and the other spayed so I dont have anymore fights at my house. Any and all additional funds will go to help other pets who's owners may not be able to afford their care. This has been a huge burden on all those involved an we need help to take care of everyone. I also have a Venmo account if that is easier for some @shantel-hodges
