Vet Bill for Working Dog Puff Adder bite

One of our brightest, bravest protection and tracking dogs, Sashenka, a Belgian Malinois, was bitten by a puff adder last night, while fending it off from the other 2 dogs! She took three fully envenomated bites to her shoulder.

By the time we got her to the vet there was extensive swelling and she was immediately given 1 vial of polyvalent antivenom, and opiates for pain management. Another vial was administered this morning. She is stable at this stage and will be monitored over the next 4 days to make sure there are no complications with her kidneys and liver. She's a brave, tough dog who has offered up a lot of her time for voluntary anti-poaching patrols!

The estimated cost at this stage is around R15 000! Antivenom does not come cheap!!

We would be so greatful for any assistance in covering her vet bills, no matter how small the amount!

We just want her home again and back to being her usual crazy self!!
