Campaign Story
Greetings. My name is Shunta. I would like to introduce you to a remarkable woman. Her name is Veronica. She is 45 years old and she is my Aunt. My aunt Veronica has always been a very vibrant person. Very soft spoken, but extremely impressionable. In August of 2014, my aunt received some horrific news. She was diagnosed with a failing heart.
Although my aunts condition is not a rare one, it was a devastating blow to both her and our family. Since August of 2014 , my Aunt has had several hospital stays that included procedures such as having a defibrilator inserted. While learning how to cope with this news, she has now been advised that she has amyloidosis disease which cause her heart to be weak.
My Aunt Veronica have been extremely strong throughout this entire process. Even with this being foreign territory for her, she is determined to be the victor. She has gone to every doctors appointment, taken every test, and undergone every procedure that has been advised that she need. The journey to a new heart is a long and expensive one.
Veronica has been placed on the waiting list for a heart transplant. At any time she can be called and given the opportunity of a lifetime. After undergoing her heart transplant, she will have to go through chemotherapy due to the Amyloidosis disease . The doctor appointments, the medications, and traveling back and forth has become more than she can bare with also still maintaining her household. With facing time out of work, and still having to undergo several more procedures, and endless appointments, we are left with no choice but to ask for help.
Updated news!!!
Veronica got a called on November 11 telling her the great news that they had a heart for her. On November 12 she received her new heart. Even though the journey is not over she still has a ways to go. She went home on the 21 November. She still have countless Drs. Appointment during the week and she starts her chemotherapy in January. She is so blessed to be given another chance at life.
