Imagine a classroom below freezing? No heating, no insulation. Imagine attending that classroom with no warm clothes, no hats, no jackets, no scarves..... This is the fate of 90 young Free State school children every winter.
Verkykerskop is renowned for its rugged beauty, wide plains, and vicious snow winters. Temperatures often go as low as - 10. It is not unknown for people to die of exposure waiting for the bus. These young learners just want to learn.
Help us to help them. We need 90 hats, scarves, thick socks, jackets and snow shoes. 2 wood burning heaters. 3 months supply of soup. 2 large kettle urns. 3 months supply of rooibos tea and condensed milk. 90 coffee mugs. And most importantly, insulation for the classrooms. We'd prefer product over cash where possible.
Help us warm up the winter of these 90 young winners.
