Hi everyone! This past semester, I was able to secure a grant to fund my project that aims at ending period poverty in Zimbabwe. Considering the fluctuation in the economy, recent treacherous weather conditions and overall inaccessibility to menstrual products, very often, women use products that are not safe during their menstrual cycle. My project hopes to address this issue by supplying menstrual cups to women and girls, while also collecting feedback from them in order to understand the sociocultural barriers that could impede the populous from completely shifting to the use of this sustainable alternative. I am partnering with Butterfly Cup Zimbabwe and will be acquiring the cups from them, but they are rolling out a new product: the menstrual underwear! We are hoping to dispense these to younger girls as well, but as my funding is limited, I am only able to purchase the menstrual cups, thus I am appealing to you. We hope to give this new product to 15 girls. Each girl requires 3 pairs of menstrual underwear, and one pair costs $11. You can donate enough for 1, for 2, for 3, or really for any amount. All donations will make a difference. Thank you for reading in this far, and I hope you can join me in my efforts to curb period poverty.
