Yuichi Prime, who is fondly called by us “Uwee” is my 5 year old son. He is very loving, playful and carefree, not until he was diagnosed with Nephrotic Syndrome and our journey to his wellness is a roller coaster.

December 2014, he had pneumonia and was under antibiotic.

January 2015, he was hospitalized for 5 days for he had rashes and swelling from head to toe and was given antibiotic, steroids and other meds; the doctor’s diagnoses were:

PCAP-C, MOD Risk

Acute Urticaria Vasculitis Sec. Infection

Electrolyte Imbalance – Hypokalemia

After 5 days of admission we were discharged thinking that everything will be well, we even had our follow up check up and given a thumbs up by our pediatrician.

However, after 15 days I have noticed that there was a discoloration in his urine “iced tea color” to be specific, hence I went to a Nephrologist and did a lot of laboratories and it was found out that both of his kidneys are enlarged, hence we were told that he manifested the signs and symptoms of Nephrotic Syndrome and was advised to have him hospitalized to be given medications and be given a shot of Methylpred. We stayed in the hospital for 5 days from End of January 2015 to First Week of February 2015; we were discharged and continued his medications at home. We were administering 9 medicines to him at his very young age.

Our nightmare came last April 7, 2015 when I almost lost my son, in the middle of dawn, I woke up and saw my son had a seizure and unresponsive. We rushed him to the hospital, with God’s grace we were able to revive him and was placed in the Intensive Care Unit. We did a lot of laboratories and had him undergone CT Scan and it was ruled out that he had a “Stroke Syndrome Ischemic Infarct Right Parietal Lobe, Nephrotic Syndrome”. We were admitted for 5 days.

April 13 – 15, 2015 we were admitted again for him to undergone Kidney Biopsy, after the biopsy were given medications and this time not only for his kidney but also for his stroke.

On July 2015, he is scheduled to have an EEG to check the condition of his brain.

I wrote, joined this fundraising to at least take my chance that there might be people who are willing to help. I have stopped working to look after my son and my husband is our sole breadwinner, with my son’s expensive maintenance on his medications, with our daily needs his income could not really suffice everything.

We usually spend Php 2000 – Php 3000 weekly on his medications, hence I am knocking to kind and generous people who have more than enough and are willing to share, to help me with my son’s medications maintenance and join us to our journey to his wellness. I badly miss the old him and can’t wait to have the loving, playful and carefree him again.

Further, I am also under medication for 30 days, I have GERD (Gastroesophageal reflux disease) because of too much stress

NO AMOUNT IS TOO SMALL!

Thank you and God bless us all..
