Urgent surgery for my friend

On the night of March 18. My friend Cheng Ming had a terrible scooter accident in Koh Samui, Thailand. She was on her way home and lost control of her scooter and drove frontally on an oncoming pick-up truck.

She was rushed to the Bangkok Hospital in Koh Samui. The doctors had noted that she broke her cheekbones and nose. She has broken both hips, right thigh fracture, skull injury, her spleen has been completely removed during surgery and she has internal bleedings at five different places in her body.

She had to undergo surgery for 7 hours and has a chance of survival of 60%. During surgery she lost a lot of blood. The doctors have donated blood. The doctors were able to stop the internal bleeding by placing steel pins in her hips and to make sure she sits still at all times.

Yesterday on March 19 around 5PM the internal bleedings started bleeding again. Donated blood was transferred from a hospital in Surat Thani because there was no longer any donated blood of her blood type in Koh Samui.

After the blood was administered by the doctors. The doctors had decided that she should be rushed to Bangkok Hospital in Bangkok because they cannot do anything for her at Bangkok Hospital Samui otherwise she will die because of the lack of donated blood and good medical facilities.

At 11PM, Cheng Ming rushed over from Koh Samui to Bangkok Hospital in Bangkok, where she had to undergo emergency surgery immediately. At the moment, the doctors have been able to stop the bleeding. She is currently unable to breathe independently and is still in critical condition. She’s being kept artificially asleep and will have to undergo several surgeries and stay in the hospital for at least 4 weeks if all goes well.

Tomorrow on 21 March she has to undergo another surgery. The doctors have to place a filter in her abdomen to stop the blood clot on her leg from getting to her abdomen.

At the moment, the current hospital bill is 2,300,000 THB which excludes last night operation and any other medical fees. The hospital bill will only keep increasing.

Unfortunately, Cheng Ming has no insurance and therefore she has to pay for all costs herself.

The Chinese community in Koh Samui has already donated more than 1,000,000 THB. Her friends and family do everything they can to contribute to the hospital bills as well but the costs are so high that we need help.

I have the evidence to show that this is a terrible tragedy. Out of respect for my friend, I don't want to make her personal hospital photos and accident photos public.
