Hi there miracle!

My name is Sameera and I am doing this fundraising for a family that I met at Seremban hospital (HTJ) a few months back. After hearing their story, I felt the urgent need to secure this mother-son pair’s future. Without some form of financial aid, they will end up struggling a lot. I can only do and give so much as a student. They desperately need our help to stay as a family.

Read their story below. A little help goes a long way for them folks!

Childhood is supposed to be a worry-free phase in life, filled with happiness and growth. This isn’t the case for Vyshhnu, a 10-year-old Punjabi-Pilipino boy whose social situation melted my heart. He was born in 2009 to two foreigners in Malaysia. Due to some difficulties they gave him up for adoption to Ms. Ponnamah Arugugam a 60-year-old, single, previously healthy, working women. She is a well educated Indian Malaysian women, who worked as a security officer before she was diagnosed with Parkinson's at the age of 62(8 years ago) and consecutively lost her job. Now she only receives RM200 (50USD) for both her and Vyshhnu's monthly expenses from the government.

Ms. Ponnamah's situation is deteriorating day by day, she is seeking medical treatment for her Parkinson's. Although she knows that there is no cure for her disease, she hopes to live longer to provide the love and care her son deserves. Currently she is 70 years old and her symptoms have become so severe that it interferes with her daily living. She is unable to do simple things like sit up from a sleeping position or reposition herself, adequately wash up and dress herself, cook, clean, write or even use her phone without assistance. Vyshhnu does all that for her and he also takes care of her finances by withdrawing money, buying groceries, and paying the bills. In addition, although Ms Ponnamah was born with 7 siblings, they abandoned her after adopting Vyshhnu because of issues related to asset and money. Hence, the two live alone, without any support from family.

Ms. Ponnamah stated that they have been trying to get a caretaker( maid), so that Vyshhnu can focus on his studies and have a normal childhood like other children but they are unable to do so because of their extremely hard financial situation (Rm200/month).

Together we can provide a helping hand for this mother and son, by getting them a caretaker( maid). This will help Vyshhnu to have a better childhood, focus on his school work and will help improve Ms. Ponnamah’s quality of life and their living condition.
She said that their monthly expenses will be Rm 1500($375 USD) for the helper(quote was given for an all-in-one, caretaker that can fulfil nursing care needs such a bathing and helping Ms. Ponnamah with her personal needs, a baby sitter for Vyshhnu, a cleaner and cook at home) and RM1000 ($250 USD) to cover basic costs related to food, travel, and medical care. That is Rm 2500 per month, Rm 30,000 per year (about $7,500 USD) and this is just enough to cover their mandatory expenses for one year.

Also, because of the uncertain condition of Ms. Ponnamah and Vishnu's life being heavily dependent on his mother alone, raising some extra money would help secure Vishnu's life further. So with your help, lets try to keep this lovely mother and son together, by providing them with the care they need and securing Vyshhnu's life financially, so that he is not left alone empty handed.

Together we can make a big difference in their lives, please remember that even one dollar goes a long way!

Thank you so much for your help,

Sameera

**All proceeds will be deposited into Ms. Ponnamah’s bank account after the 4% fee deducted by gogetfunding**
