URGENT Help to move NAWS animals to a safer place

We Need a New Safe Shelter for The Strays Animals in Naxos.

With our first goal of 5000 € reached we can pay the first years rent! AMAZING!

The money will be transferred in a few days already so we can pay for the first year! We never thought that our dream of a new, big shelter would come true… Thank you all for making this possible!

Now that we can rent this amazing place we will need some more help!

There is so much to do before we can move our dogs.

We need to fix infrastructure and water system !

We need to build shades, proper, safe and comfortable kennels for our dogs and plant a lot of trees and other plants to make shade for us to work and for the animals .

Every penny is highly needed to make this a save and welcoming place for our adult dogs and all the puppies that end up on the streets year by year…

Let’s do one more try to cover the cost of that together so we can move in as fast as possible!

This is a big dream and we can’t believe that this is going to happen.

The new shelter will replace the two smaller shelter we have now, making the volunteers job safer, plus enabling us to have a protected recovery station for the animals and storage room, because until now there is no building or storage room in the shelter areas.

The area where we take care of our stray dogs is a very hard place both for our animals and our volunteers.

Totally exposed to weather conditions, next to a small river.

In the winter the river floods and we risk our safety to cross it and take care of the dogs who literally freeze and drown in water! We have to go downhill and climb fences in order to get inside our shelter. Dog’s blankets get soaking wet each day, the dogs run in flooding kennels and mud and our constant agony is if they are dry and warm enough at nights.

In spring because next to the shelter is a field of a beekeeper, we all are attacked by bees hoping to be lucky enough to rush dogs to the vet in time.

In the summer the animals suffer in scorching heat and we try our best to relieve them while suffering ourselves.

Now we have a unique opportunity to move to a new piece of land and make a better shelter for the animals and us. It is closer to vets, reasonably accessible and with a closed building for emergencies and other uses.

The rent is totally beyond our reach and the financial burden would shut us down.

Please help us move to a location safer for everyone.

For the dogs that spend their life there while waiting for adoption and for the volunteers who devote their life caring for these souls...
