URGENT Help needed – James Barclay – Stroke Rehabilitation

Update posted by Charlie Paget On Dec 31, 2020

Well what an eventful year 2020 turned out to be, despite hardly being able to leave home!

In the end it's coming together and the future looks so bright.

Jimmy's 'processing power' is still getting better every day and his stamina is increasing, he still has a lot of fatigue but is determined to get better as fast as possible and to work hard to get to his goal - he wants full recovery by the end of Jan 2021!

Thanks to all his friends and family, he has been able to get the very best attention and I have no doubt that this is contributing to his rapid improvement so sincerest thanks!

May 2020 exit quietly and 2021 be kinder to all souls. One Day at a time...

Happy New Year to each and every one of you!

Love and Light

Great news!

Today is the day, we have raised enough for 6 weeks at an amazing Sub Acute Facility and have paid for one month so far. He has co-operated this week and decided he CAN actually eat and is being moved today!

We will take stock once he is settled and see how quickly he progresses to see how long he should be there for but we aim to have him home as soon as practical, and continue the therapy from our home environment.

Last night we had a great Fundraiser at Rocomamas Town Square, there was a celebration of the milestones he has reached so far and we are all looking forward to a bright future for Jimmy.

Thanks again to all you wonderful humans for your continued emotional and financial support, I don't know where we would be without you all.

Love and Light xx

We are so grateful to everyone for their contributions, thank you so much!

We have currently raised enough for over 2 weeks in the Sub-Acute facility which is going to mean we will at least be able to move him! Of course, we don't yet know how long his treatment will be but are investigating Home Rehabilitation options for when he recovers well enough at the Sub-Acute.

Some people have had trouble making payments, I do apologise, this is the message from GoGetFunding:

"The message "Authentication not available: do not benefit from liability shift" means that the card you have used for your donation is not enrolled in a 3DS secure payment programme - this is an additional level of security applied by many sites as a fraud prevention measure and which may card issuers offer.

When a card does not have 3DS enabled on their card, the liability of fraud or loss shifts to the card issuer and they have to decide whether to authorise the payment. Many banks automatically decline authorisation when 3DS is not present, meaning the card cannot be used.

In these circumstances a donor would either need to use a different card to donate, donate via a different method (such as the bank transfer option, or if the campaign has a PayPal account able to accept card donations consider this instead.) if it has been enabled on the campaign. Alternatively, you can contact your bank to ask if they will pre-authorise the payment.

I hope this helps clarify that the issue is not with our site, rather it relates to the card not having 3DS for one of the methods you have enabled. They should still be able to donate via bank transfer or PayPal."

You may contact me for an alternative arrangement if you like and I will load your contribution as an 'offline payment'. [email protected]

Sincerest thanks from everyone involved, we are hoping to move him by the weekend and I should be meeting the doctor tomorrow!
