PANCREATIC CANCER
On behalf of my Beloved brother Loni Dangdang, my mentor, best friend and role model, and a responsible person. A Police Officer assigned in RPHAU at Camp Martin Teofilo B. Delgado, Fort San Pedro, Iloilo City, Philippines.
The story:
He is the third son, the bread winner among FOUR (4) children of Mr. & Mrs. Nilo/Corazon Dangdang. He graduated being the class salutatorian in elementary. He strived so hard to finish high school with the help of our relatives and graduated with flying colours. Our parents cannot send him to college because our father was in a serious health condition at that time and eventually passed away. Loni became a fisherman at night and a student by day just to support himself for his college expenses (allowance & school fees). He took the course of Bachelor of Elementary Education at Capiz State University, Pontevedra Campus but didn’t make it to the second semester because of financial problem. He stopped. He studied Criminology instead with the help of our half-sister at HERCOR COLLEGE, Lawaan, Roxas City. Because of his hard work and dedication, he became top 1 from 1st until 3rd year and became the governor of his department. Finally, he graduated as a Cum Laude.
After graduation, he worked as part-time employee at a fast food chain and then applied to Philippine National Police (PNP) using his Civil Service Eligibility (PD 907-Cum Laude). He became full fledged Police Officer in 2017 - Class Dakila Region 6.
All of his achievements came from his hard work and by the guidance of GOD. During the 6 months PNP training, he started to lose weight but he ignored it thinking that was normal (maybe part of the training). On his Field Training Program (FTP), he took his Criminology Licensure Examination and passed. I remember how grateful and blessed he was.
The twist:
One day, while on duty he felt cold. It went on and off for hours and even lasted for days. First he thought it was probably just some type of flu, he took some medicine and got better but, after few days it came back on & off again. June 8, 2018 he went home to Roxas City. We brought him to the hospital for check-up, did laboratory tests, and unfortunately the result of the ultrasound was…
The result:
Neoplasm of Unknown Behavior of the liver. They also found an abnormal growth in his stomach. His Doctor told us to do a CT- Scan to know what is in the stomach and the result of the CT-Scan shows a PANCREATIC MASS measured 5.2 cm. The surgeon referred him to an Oncology doctor. My brother was advised to undergo a 6 session of Chemotherapy. He started his Chemo on July 21, 2018. Since then, he underwent numerous Chemos. We spent a lot for his treatment plus blood transfusions every time he underwent his Chemo which even made us financially drained. His salary is not enough to defray medical expenses. Bills piled up.
By the moment you read this, my brother is fighting for his life. Suffering from PANCREATIC CANCER.
We are asking for any help/donation to complete the necessary treatment. As of now, treatment stopped. We have no choice. We are forced not to continue his treatment due to financial constraints. We are still hoping that he will be healthy again and finally go back and serve in the Police Force. We are knocking on your generous heart if you could help us in this trying time.
