URGENT – Help Florecita get better after car accident!

On Wednesday (18th of December) my mother Florecita was on her way back from Guatemala City to Antigua, when she got into a bad car accident that left her with multiple broken ribs, a bruised lung, a head injury and a badly shattered knee and ankle, which need operation as soon as possible. She has been treated in the public hospital, but had to be relocated on the 20th, as the hospital is understaffed and does not have a doctor available that can perform the operation she needs. For the new hospital, we need to urgently come up with $3500 by Monday (23rd December) in order for her to get the operation and finally be able to get better as she is in a lot of pain. She is unfortunately not eligible for health insurance because of her diabetes and we as a family will not be able to come up with this amount by ourselves by Monday as we still need to finance the remaining $5000 for the pending medical treatments.

This is why we are reaching out to you - our friends, friends of friends, kind strangers that know and love Florecita or just want to offer a helping hand. We appreciate every dollar that you can spare in order to help her get better.

El miércoles (18 de diciembre) mi madre Florecita estaba regresando de la ciudad de Guatemala a Antigua, cuando tuvo un grave accidente de carro que la dejó con múltiples costillas rotas, un pulmón lastimado, una lesión en la cabeza y una rodilla y tobillo rotos, que necesitan ser operados lo antes posible. Ha sido tratada en el hospital público, pero tuvo que ser trasladada el día 20 a una clínica privada, ya que el hospital no tiene personal suficiente y no tiene un médico disponible que pueda realizar la operación que ella necesita. Necesitamos urgentemente conseguir $3500 para el lunes (23 de diciembre) para que sea operada y finalmente pueda mejorar ya que tiene mucho dolor. Desafortunadamente, por su diabetes no tiene seguro médico y nosotros como familia no podremos conseguir esta cantidad por nosotros mismos en ese tiempo ya que todavía necesitamos financiar los $5000 restantes para los tratamientos médicos que faltan.

Es por eso que estamos llegando a ustedes - nuestros amigos, amigos de amigos, amables extraños que conocen y aman a Florecita o simplemente quieren ofrecer una mano amiga. Apreciamos cada dólar que ustedes puedan ahorrar para ayudarla a mejorar.
