Urgent heart procedure for young mom

Today I took my mom out to the beach in Cape Town after she spent weeks mostly indoors due to her heart condition. What was supposed to be a special family day out in the sun, turned out to be quite a scary and traumatic experience when my mom collapsed on the beach due to lack of oxygen and blood flow to her heart. She is 49 years old. A young, beautiful and loving woman with a servant’s heart. She has always done everything she can for others and now I trust that the seeds she has sown in selfless love will return a harvest.

I’m a single mother to the most precious and handsome 4-year old boy. He has been such a blessing to my mom and they have a very special bond. My mom has lost two of her own babies and I lost my second baby earlier this year at 33 weeks pregnant.

This year has been an attack on our family’s health. After my daughter died in utero in March, my son spent 3 months in and out of the hospital, after which I too had to be hospitalized due to stress and my lack of immunity.

So for us to once again experience sickness in the family is eventful and stressful. But when you know you’ve got your loved one covered, it makes it so much more bearable.

I felt helpless today. One moment I am capturing memories of my son playing in the sand and water while his grandmother is soaking in the sun. The next moment I am praying for a miracle for her life to be spared.

My mom and beloved grandmother Annelien, requires an urgent heart procedure. A R70 000.00 deposit is needed for them to admit her for the angiogram. A further R130 000.00 is recommended to be available depending on the amount of stents required. We are believing for a miracle.
