Imagine taking your family into a country for a short work contract to stay only 6 months and near on 2 years later you are held in that country with your family. The hardest challenge is getting people to understand what the Italian administration has done to my family because it is so absurd.
A British child with borderline autism and only 8 years old. She has basically been trapped in Italy for nearly 2 years, due to maladministration by the Italian administration. Imagine your child being borderline autistic, having to attend a school daily in a language that is not being taught to her, so she has no idea whats going on. Imagine even yourself as a child, separated from classes, sat in a side room with a teacher who knows nothing about her (or your) learning needs, cannot speak English, cannot teach Italian. Communication in a learning environment sits at near zero. Give the teacher her due, she tries but it's not going anywhere. each class tends to end up being an art class drawing pictures. The child is in a foreign language environment, severely losing out on her UK education, and from borderline autism she is gradually being pushed deeper into autism when she is actually very capable of improving to the point of recovery. ( Imagine how her parents feel watching this happen). there child is being destroyed in front of them. The child is British, she has guts, everyday she gets up, she never refuses, she keeps trying, and she is cycled on the back of a push-bike three kilometers to the school, in Northern Italy, come snow, rain, storms and hot humid summers. This is reality for a young British girl, reality for the parents, and a living hell. Neither of the parents can get work in the small market town, in fact the mother is not allowed to look for a job. For close on two years all family savings have been poured into surviving, spending the family savings in a country which is hammering them into poverty and basically destroying their child. can this happen to a British family in an EU country, the answer is YES.
Money talks in Italy, legal action, another nightmare cost is currently in process against the highly incompetent Italian administration system. For legal reasons the full details cannot be written here on a public platform. Briefly. This family came for a short 4 month work contract in this small North Italian town, Italian maladministration has held them as virtual prisoners for almost two years, the family group cannot get out of Italy. I know it sounds ridiculous but this is the truth. They are fighting this legally, the nightmare looks set to soon end, obviously legally they will win. The evidence in favour of the family is overwhelming. But, the law system is slow, the first law firm dropped the case because they feared retribution against them from the Italian government administration. The new law firm has Italian solicitors who studied law in the UK, they have more guts. Look at the family losses while in Italy, a minimum of 15,000 pounds savings spent into a country which is absurdly detaining the family, no crime committed by the family, this really is bureaucratic maladministration. Loss of income for the father, thousands of pounds. Spending family savings and money into a country which is destroying a British family has to be the most soul destroying feeling around.
The advice from the British consulate basically amounts to "get a solicitor because we are not going to help" and yes, upon returning to England, that will be the next legal case against the UK Consulate staff in Italy. To even refuse to ask the Italian government to look closely at this maladministration, investigate and fix this maladministration is very shocking. This is the support our UK consulate offers, zero support.
The family is on the brink of escape, the legal fight is on and it means coming here to a fund raiser and begging for small donations ( the family would even be willing to repay those donations) it is vital at this point to use money to turn around this maladministration and destructive behaviour, get what has been going on fully exposed and understood by a court judge and get the young girl into her home country and her own school with other British children.
So the family is begging, they are British, they have to beat this nightmare situation and it is not cheap to do that.
A small donation from you, even just a few quid, this will all mount up, help this family beat a bizarre maladministration foreign system, help the family expose this in the courts, help the family come home and help a young girl get away before she is permanently pushed deeper in autism. The family can honestly say, if the situation were reversed, they would help you.
Two pics are attached with this fundraiser, the daughter does not have any local friends, she is lonely, she is excluded from classes, the language barrier and not being taught Italian to help her communicate. This is not the teachers fault, she just is not a language teacher.
At home she makes a classroom using her toys, she wants to be in a classroom, she wants to have friends, she practices her times table by using a whiteboard pen and writing on the floor tiles, her parents are doing there best to keep up her education as much as possible. This is a brave British girl, strong, determined, she deserves better, she deserves to come home.
