Sheila and Rodney Arnold urgently need your assistance due to loss of jobs, and disability health issues. A small donation can go along way in assisting this family in their time of need. Please consider donating today. There is an urgent need to raise $1,300 dollars before the 15th of this month to cover the mortgage. Thank you.

I am reaching out to the community for urgently needed financial assistance for my Sister’s family who are down on their luck and could use your assistance. If they don’t get help soon, I’m afraid they may lose their home, and will need to file bankruptcy.

My sister, Sheila and brother in law, Rodney who live in Victorville, CA are down on their luck, both lost their jobs four years ago when Verizon closed down their office at Long Beach, CA in July 2014. Both were telephone operators, my sister had 24 years, and my brother in law had 17.

My brother in law is having an extremely hard time finding meaningful employment. He went to trucking school in November 2016, and received his CDI license, but due to a couple of minor traffic incidents he was let go within a couple of months. He was supposed to be with a trainer, but they had him driving by himself. He has recently started orientation with another trucking company and is currently with a trainer. This is the fourth trucking company he has started with in several months, and hopefully this one will work out, and they keep him. He doesn’t make enough money to cover the mortgage, and my sister is unable to work.

My sister has a lot of medical issues with anxiety, restless leg syndrome, incontinence, ringing in the ears, carpal tunnel syndrome, difficulty turning her head and lifting her arms, and memory loss and beginning signs of dementia. She has a walker, and cane to assist with walking as her legs buckle and she falls down. She filed for Social Security Disability and was denied twice, and now has a pro-bono lawyer working on her case. The law firm says it could take 30 months to get a hearing, which is at least another year.

My nephew still lives at home at 30. He is a college graduate who is also having a hard time finding employment in the State of California. He is currently working a temporary job with Los Angeles County, commuting 2-3 hrs. each way, and the job is supposed to end in December 2018. He recently totaled his car from lack of sleep, and thankfully he is able to commute with co-workers from the area. He helps out the family the best that he can, but without a car, my sister despite her health issues is driving him to work when he has a late shift, or when he has to work on weekends and she sits at the library all day waiting for him to get off work.(2-3 hour commute one way). He desperately needs a full time job, and a car so he can drive himself back and forth to work. Update: Joseph's job has now ended, and he too is now looking for employment.

They live very frugal. My sister hangs clothes to dry, instead of using the dryer. They use fans instead of the air conditioner, the electric toaster oven, instead of the gas oven, and she sews her own clothes. They even cut their own hair.

They are very hard workers, and have always given back to the community. They signed a gift deed and gave away a really nice double-wide trailer home in Long Beach several years ago to a co-worker in need. They donate to the Mission, Goodwill, and the Salvation Army. My sister always helped out and volunteered at the kid’s school, and she baked cookies and volunteered to babysit.

They have reached out to friends and family, but it still isn’t enough. They are desperate for financial assistance. And any help would be greatly appreciated.

My name is Doug Davis, I am Sheila’s brother, and I’m reaching out to the community for any assistance you may be able to provide. A small donation could help buy groceries and pay bills. Any amount would be appreciated. They urgently need a lifeline to get their affairs in order. This is the first time I have tried my hand at fundraising and I hope this will assist in some way. Everyone can fall down on their luck.

Hopefully in another year her social security disability will be approved, and they will be in a better financial situation. She has worked tirelessly with doctors, the Social Security Administration, and the lawyers to get her disability approved. But you know how slow the government can be.

You can send donations directly to my my sister's family through a new E-mail address at [email protected]. Please consider sending to “friends and family” as this option will reduce the PayPal fees. This money will go directly to the family to help pay bills, and buy groceries. She recently informed me that she only had $30 to buy food for the week.

You can also donate using WePay.com. They accept credit cards, debit cards, ACH, and Chase Pay.

They are very humble, and will appreciate any assistance you can provide, including your prayers. Please consider donating to this family.

Thank you, and I greatly appreciate any help you can provide.

Doug Davis
