Campaign Story
Urgent Appeal to raise funds for donor build a solar kitchen and dig a borehole for water access for Ndhole Primary school for cooking and drinking by pupils in Homa Bay.
We need 20300 dollars to dig a bore hole and sustain the solar kitchen so the children can get food. This is a semi arid area where children drop out of school to go and search for water. Early child marriages is rampant due to poverty. Children also experience water borne diseases. The children will have challenges managing washing hands as a result of COVID 19 since there is lack of water.
In the attached video, Alex Chamwada covered the plight of the area where the school is located. The children are in dire need of water.Brown water from the pans in the video is what is used by the community and schools. These pans dry up fast and the lake is 20 kms away from where the school is located. These renders children helpless and their education is adversely affected.
The picture showing plates is what the school is using currently as their kitchen. Pupils are in the next photo fetching water from one of the pans since they do not have water at the school. This has a triple effect on their learning.
I am kindly requesting if you may consider assisting these children by donating. Thank you.
