Last year, we walked 1km on our hands for Club Rainbow for the underprivileged kids with chronic illnesses. This year, we are tripling the distance- a 3km Handstand walk- to support two individuals closer to heart.

We will be doing a 3km Handstand Walk on the 2nd of March in Stadium, where we will be featured by some news publication including Straits Times. Here are the details of our fundraising cause:

Individual no 1: Friend whose newly wedded wife passed on from a traffic accident.

If you read the recent news on a minibus traffic accident with two bikes, the male victim is someone we knew personally. Unfortunately, his newly wedded wife passed on while being transported to the hospital. We are raising funds for her family. It has been hard on him, his father passed on last month and now this. Our hearts goes out to him and his family and any donation would be helpful.

Individual no 2: Baby Shamal with a rare neuromuscular condition

Baby Shamel was diagnosed with type 2 Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA).

SMA is a rare neuromuscular condition that causes muscles to become weak and damages the nerve cells in the brain and spinal cord. It leads to progressive muscular weakness and affects the ability to independently sit, crawl, stand, walk, swallow and even breathe. Shamel is currently in a position where he can only sit with support, and that too, not for long minutes. It is very hard for us as parents to see him struggle to move around and exhaust himself from trying to take a toy. Every child should be able to play. Without medication, further deterioration and eventual death of his motor neurones will lead him to total immobility and weakness.

The sum which we would be able to raise might not mean much in the grand scheme of things, but we would like to show our comradery for the people whose lives are upside down.

No donation is too small, and we thank you for your generosity. 100% of the proceeds we received will be split evenly amongst the two individuals.
