Updates: Help Noemi fight Stage 4 Lymphoma

Update: Thank you very much to those of you who have supported our family. It has been a roller-coaster.

On March 30^th, 2021 – We found out that our mother, Noemi, has Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. It is cancer that originates in the lymphatic system – a disease-fighting network spread throughout the body. Instead of Lymphocytes (a type of white blood) defending off bacteria, it develops into tumor cells spreading among all the major organs. Mom was unexpectedly diagnosed; thus, she went through chemotherapy and things turned for the better, and finished her full chemotherapy treatment.

However, in recent events, the cancer has reappeared and is more vigorous than ever. She has side effects such as Bell’s Palsy, which results in temporary or permanent damage to her facial nerves, and unable to talk properly. A recent PET scan indicates that the tumor cells have been attacking her major organs including her kidneys and bladder causing our mom unable to walk properly. Further diagnosing her with Stage 4 cancer and continues to undergo surgeries and chemotherapy.

Currently, her vital organs have been infected, going through surgery in order to remove urinating blood from her bladder in order to endure chemotherapy. Which has been successful, and we are currently on the 7^th dose of her targeted therapy costing $5,000 HKD each dose. The doctors have also suggested CAR-T therapy to assist the chemotherapy. She has been in the hospital for over a month, where it costs around $120 HKD per night. We used to be aided by the Samaritan fund, however, we are not able to reapply due to having to go through chemotherapy again.

She is also having trouble being able to walk on her own and must undergo physiotherapy to gain strength back in order to be able to walk properly and to gain functions back in order to do fundamental functional movements. Your generous contributions would go towards her chemotherapy sessions, her medical bills, her medication, physiotherapy, and day-to-day expenses including transportation and food.
