Good day!

We are UP Lakan, a socio-civic organization of students from the University of the Philippines – Diliman who hail from the province of Bulacan. For 29 years, we have been conducting different projects and events that help improve the lives of our fellow Bulakenyos. One of these projects is the annual Medical Mission wherein we provide different medical services to a chosen community in need. The services we offer include general checkup, dental checkup, eye checkup, and circumcision. We also provide free medicines commonly prescribed by doctors. Over the years, we have been able to help thousands of citizens all over Bulacan through the hard work of medical volunteers and, of course, UP Lakan’s members

UP Lakan Medical Mission 2016

This year, we take on this initiative to a step higher as we organize a bigger Medical Mission and provide more services to more people in Bulacan. Instead of one, we aim to provide two barangay communities with not only the usual medical services we provide in our annual medical mission, but with additional services such as EENT checkup, lice treatment, health seminar, and massage services. We will also be providing reading glasses to those who need it.

The Medical Mission 2017 will be held on April 22 and May 6, 2017 in Brgy. Poblacion and Brgy. Sapang- Bayan, Calumpit, Bulacan – a riverside community in Bulacan that is often affected by flood.

Given the greater scale of the project, we would be needing greater amount of financial resources as well. As the main organizer of the project, UP Lakan provides all the necessary medical supplies for the services being provided. Aside from this, we also provide our volunteers food and transportation as most of them travel all the way to Bulacan from various parts of Metro Manila to offer their services to the people.

With hopeful hearts, we initiate this fundraising project with the aim of aiding the financial needs of UP Lakan’s Medical Mission 2017. Every amount would definitely help make this project a success and, in turn, impact the lives of the Bulakenyos by improving their health and well being.
