I am a 38 year old mother of two life has thrown me a few curve balls and I've always been determined to show life that I can do this I can withstand all the challenges and just keep getting stronger and survive. However I have come to a place where if I do not ask for help I will not be able to keep this ship afloat much longer. Let's start at the beginning. There have been many ups and downs as a mid third year student in 2009 my mother had to undertake a triple bypass I stayed home to help her recover. When I returned to class I discovered that I had fell behind a lot more than I had anticipated. I decided to start working that September and then study part time to complete my degree from the next January. My dad let me know he was no longer able to assist with paying my student loan interest while I finish my studies. I started paying off the loan and there was just never enough money to enroll again. In 2003 my dad was diagnosed with early onset Alzheimers his employer had been taking advantage of him and cut his salary in half and demoted him as they realized he was no longer completely in control of his brain and was vulnerable. We made a case against them finally got him boarded and some of the money the had defrauded him out of returned. My mother chose to look after him until the end it was an agonizing reality to see the once strong father that had always taken care of us withering away to the helpless shadow of his former self. I was laid off same year he was diagnosed and only found work 5 months later. Things were not easy but we were surviving. A few years passed and I got married to a good man with a good job and found myself a career where I was flourishing. I had my first child and my baby brother got married then my father passed away. We were devastated but also thankful that his suffering was over. We bought a house and all was good. I was blessed with another pregnancy and in August of 2012 a month and a half before my second child was born my husband was laid off from the factory where he had worked since he'd leftover school. My baby came early due to stress and my husband found a contract job in a different province where he only got to come home every 14 days. I only took 6 weeks maternity leave as we needed my salary. My mom came to live wit us to help with the kids. My eldest cried herself to sleep every night whilst talking to her daddy on the phone. My husband was offered a full-time job I resigned and started packing for the move 1 month before we were due to relocate the offer was withdrawn. I went back to employers and asked for a job the could only give me a junior position for half my previous salary but I took it. My husband got another 6 month contract. After 4 months I was offered another job with double the salary but double the hours we were desperate and I took it. My husband's contract ended and he had no work he heard of a possible position in the city that would start in a few months. My mom lived there I decided we were moving I sat down and only by grace found a job again with half the salary but we would stay with my mom. 4 months later my husband got the job things were looking up. Then my mom had a stroke kids had to go to school extra medical expenses. I was laid off and found work again. Now a year and a half later my husband and I are both working full time we are looking after my mom who is now in a wheelchair unable to be left unsupervised we have a lady who cares for her during the day until we get hom from work. I am taking a course after hours once a week to try and start my own business so I can be home more for my mom and the kids. We are behind on house and school payments and both our cars are on the verge of breaking down completely we both work 60 kilometers from home fuel costs are just ridiculous. Our power was just cut and I have no idea how to keep going. I am so ashamed of asking however I need help I can't fix this on my own. Please help us.
