University Tuition Funding

This is a formal appeal to you for a donation towards my tuition fees, so that I can get the opportunity to complete my undergraduate degree (BSS in Industrial & Organisational Psychology + Industrial Sociology) in 2017. I, as it stands, have not been receiving any funding, but had my single mother paying for my tuition and this was enough while she had a job, and money coming in from some small business opportunities she received from time-to-time. However, with no job or catering opportunities, I am left unfunded and owing the university an amount of $10, 000.00. I cancelled some of my meals, specifically, breakfast for the year, but as you can imagine that took off very little for the outstanding amount.

As I have mentioned, I did not apply for student loans in the past, this is because I am part of “the missing middle”, which is too poor to afford university tuition but also according to government measures, too rich to qualify for funding. However, this year I did apply for funding for the 2017 academic year, as my situation has become really bad, and now falls under the qualifying government measures. I applied to National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) for funding, and the response was that they can only process my application once they have my November results. However, my results have been withheld as my tuition for last year is outstanding. This means that I cannot be funded by NSFAS because they cannot receive my results. I must mention that I contacted my Dean, who told me that I did pass all my exams.

I cannot continue to apply for grants and scholarships without my results, which will only be released once I have paid the university the amount that I owe. In 2017, I would like to complete my degree. This is why I am appealing to you to help me through this difficult time, in clearing my current debt so that my results can be released and I can apply for NSFAS funding, so I do not have to drop out of university in my final year. Even if it is a donation of just a fraction of what I owe, I would really appreciate it.
