University Outstanding Fees

Hello everyone, my name is Judigirl Vuma, a 22 year old from South Africa. This is my first time on Gogetfunding and I think I should tell my story.

Just like most people, I always wanted to go to varsity even though I didn't know what I wanted to study. I'm from the rural areas of South Africa and we had very little to no career guidance at all. We were studying for the sake of studying and to make our parents happy.

When it was time to go to varsity, I took a course which I didn't even know what it was just for the sake of 'studying'. It was confusing at first, but as time went on, I learnt to enjoy what I was studying and it helped me discover myself. I did BA in Humanities which I majored in Linguistics, Language Practice, and English lit.

For the past four years in varsity, I was using a student loan (now a bursary) to pay for my fees. However, I still have outstanding fees from last year, meaning the loan/bursary did not pay all my fees. Now I have to pay for the outstanding fees in order to to get my degree certificate.

I don't have the money that is needed and I'm still unemployed. It's very hard to get a job in South Africa and there are so many unemployed graduates. There are so many places that I cannot apply to because they require my degree certificate. So I really need it for my job hunting journey.

Recently I have started volunteering at a NGO from my neighborhood. I teach students mathematics and I enjoy it so much. After I get my degree, I plan to apply not only in South Africa only, but in Asian counties as well because they are in need of people to teach English as a second language. Volunteering has been keeping me busy and sane and I love every second of it.

I am writing this to kindly ask you to help me raise funds in order to get my degree. Any amount would highly be appreciated. And thank you so much for taking time to read this long introduction.
