I am an unemployed father of two. For the past 5 years, I have struggled to find employment and two years ago, I decided to pursue studies in psychology. My goal is to become a clinical psychologist, specialising in child and adolescent psychology. Mental healthcare in my native country, South Africa, is in dire straits and the same applies to the global mental health landscape. Since my teens, I had been conscious about making an impact on society, and that is one of the reasons why I completed a degree in theology at university. Through psychology, I hope to make a contribution, as a professional and volunteer in easing the suffering of the mentally ill. Your financial assistance will help me pay for outstanding tuition fees and register for the 2019 academic year at the University of South Africa (Unisa).
