University Fees for Mary…girls need degree too

Growing up in a community where girl child education is hinded by poverty, early marriage, sexual abuse, teenage pregnancy and loss of parents through HIV/AIDS can be challenging. I was once there and lived that life. Growing up an orphan was not easy and doing errands to people in the village so as to be given food was not intersting either. Through determination and hardwork I was able to complete high school. I've been involved in various volunteer activities in my community for 7 years now as a way of giving back and encouraging other girls to persue education, however I've never managed to find a decent job and my potential to create more impact has been prevented by the fact that my education level is low. I've always dreamt of higher education, problem is I can't afford it. I recently enrolled in Catholic University of Eastern Africa and I'm doing Degree in Social Science specializing in Development studies. Getting this University Degree will help me empower my community and be a global change maker. I cannot afford it myself but with the help of good donors/funders like you I believe I can. My slogan since I was a child is "I'll Persue education, it is the only key out of poverty for me the African child." God bless you so much.
