I've waited long for this. I just got accepted as a delegate in a Youth Conference abroad, Asia World Model United Nations (AWMUN) III in Bali, Republic of Indonesia, on November 13th – 16th, 2019 in behalf of the Philippines and UNICEF. And we were informed that we can gather sponsorship. Hence, this GoFundMe account.
It will certainly help me. It will give a platform for me to learn different cultures and give me a wide variety of experience. Books can teach me different cultures but nothing is an alternative to experience. I will learn from the stories shared in the event especially from the people who first handedly experience the same. And I hope they can learn from my stories as well. As part of the youth, I will be able to share stories I learned in the event to my fellow student leaders here in the Philippines. I will continue to volunteer for activities involving children such as Book Mobile and Reading Program of my college school, I teach children in that program. I am currently a member and active donor of UNICEF and UNCHR. I don't think that being aware of the situation of our children in our country is enough. A person must act on it and decide to make a change or be that change. I will start an initiative to secure that every child gets the education he or she deserves and provide assistance to the people that will support such education. Education is not a privilege but a right. Consequently, it must be given regardless of someone's status, age, gender, and the likes. I am an advocate of change. I don't practice customs passed to me but I study the rationale behind such custom and make it my conviction. I stand up for what is right even if sometimes I am left standing alone. My hope doesn't depend on anyone. I stand firm on my conviction and I concentrate on the change I want to see. The change that hopefully begins with me.
