Unforseen Circumstances: Towing Fees & Helping Me Get Back on My Feet!

My name is Amanda, I am 27 years old and I live in Santa Cruz, California. I moved here about 18 months ago to attend UCSC and I recently finished my Bachelors degree in Cultural Anthrolopology.

If you've ever been to SC than you know that there is a housing crisis here and it's hard to come by a good place to call home. Like many other students, I decided that living in my car would be more cost affective than looking for housing I couldn't afford. So I found an old hearse that I felt would fit me and my things and called her home. She was a good car for the past 5 months, but now she is TOTALLED.

My hearse was involved in an accident on Tuesday night. I had a mental breakdown earlier that day and was leaving the hospital as the accident occurred. Although I wasn't driving, the car is my responsibility, and thus the tow company wants $282 by the 3rd of April. If I DO NOT make my goal, then I will owe $822 as of April 4th and it will be sent to collections if I am unable to pay it in time.

I am so very thankful that everyone involved in the accident is okay. Unfortunately, my hearse, my home, is not and I am now homeless, any extra money will be used to help me pay a deposit on a new place or vehicle.
