I'm Brian (that's me in the picture -- see, I am a real person), I'm 36 years old and live in Missouri currently. I'm creating this campaign because I'm facing an avalanche of problems which I will now explain:

Recently I was employed on a relatively long term contract, when after noticing changes in my behavior that seemed to be making everyday usual life more difficult I mentioned them to my doctor during a visit. I was diagnosed with depression and anxiety disorders and started medication for such.

Well, within a couple of weeks of that, my contract at work was suddenly cancelled.

I have since been trying to reacquire employment, though unsuccessfully, all while dealing with my illness. As a result, my unemployment insurance has lapsed, and I now have absolutely zero income. Since what I was receiving through unemployment was not close to what I was receiving in wages when I was employed, some bills had to either go partially paid or simply wait, so that I could maintain the most basic one involving keeping a roof over my head. Now that I am receiving nothing, I have facing me down multiple debts at once (utilities, as well as my rent for this month) that I have no hope of addressing myself at all. I have no friends locally I can ask about this (partially due to social isolation from the mental illness I mentioned), no family members are willing or able to assist me, and I cannot borrow funds because I have no verifiable income.

So this is what it comes to in this desperate hour: the compassion of passersby.

What the funds from this will do is allow me to maintain housing and the utilities I am required to keep on as condition of my lease, hopefully long enough for me to regain employment and be self sufficient again.

Collection calls increasing

Update posted by Brian Nicholson at 07:51 pm

The loan company I mentioned from before is calling more often now. I'm getting further underwater and there seems no chance of me getting work before I default on that.Is there no bottom?

Car Trouble

Update posted by Brian Nicholson at 04:37 am

My vehicle has started to act like it's going to quit shortly after starting. Check engine light is on.I'm nowhere near AT ALL being able to address that, regardless of what is causing it.As if I didn't have enough to deal with :^(

Collections calls

Update posted by Brian Nicholson at 05:58 am

I'm now getting calls from an installment loan company I've obviously missed payment on (due to having no income anymore). With everything else, I owe *them* 300... ugh.
